Paulina of BEN Namibia rests in the new ambulance prototype. This one has an adjustable backrest, removable stretcher, sun shade canopy, and a handle to pull by hand as well as by bicycle. This design is very close to what we will produce on a larger scale in the coming months.

TKMOAMS HBC volunteers came down to Windhoek for the NED Bank Race–most started, finished, and stayed upright throughout the race. I realized that riding in a pack of spandex wearing germans on paved roads with traffic signals is quite a far cry from the quite sandy roads in the North where these HBC volunteers ride to get to their clients.

Who would have thought–BEN Namibia got commissioned by Murray and roberts to build tall bikes for a bike race/publicity. We did it to promote our organization, and I rode one too in a 30 km race (18 miles). This stands a chance of being the largest tallbike convention in Namibia, ever. Maybe Southern Africa? But surely someone’s as crazy as me in Joberg or Cape Town, right?
